FAQ’s
v What is the main “HHQI Web site” address? The Home Health Quality Improvement website is www.homehealthquality.org
v Is this campaign open to private home health agencies or only those with Medicare certification? Absolutely, this campaign is free to every agency in the country no matter what type of payer source. If you belong to an agency which doesn’t have a CCN/Medicare provider number, please contact hhqi@wvmi.org.
v Is my password / username the same for the General Campaign and the HHQI Data Access system? Not unless you created them to be identical. These are two different registrations systems and they are not connected in anyway other than being accessible from the HHQI Web site.
v I can’t remember my password / username. Please use the “forgotten password” feature located on the log-in page or on the first row of the “Quick Links” (right side of the home page).
v I have forgotten my user name. When you request a new password, you will receive a pop-up message starting with “Success…” In this paragraph, your username will be displayed.
v How many people from each agency can register for the campaign? The Agency Registration system is designed to have multiple people from the same agency using the same provider number register.
v How can I change my contact information? Once you have logged into the HHQI Web site, click on “MY links” on the gold tool bar going across the top. By then clicking on the “Edit My Info” button, you will be able to alter any incorrect information entered during the registration process.
v How do I receive “Premier” agency status? This status is no longer available. It was given to those who registered during the first week of the campaign.
v Will the agencies have monthly teleconferences? No, we found with the last campaign that holding a call with 5,000+ people on the line was not the most effective use of time and resources. With this campaign, in addition to finding educational information on the HHQI Web site, agencies will be invited to webinars and LiveChat informational sessions among other means.
v Is this campaign purely an educational effort? Primarily, this campaign is focused on improving the quality of care home health patients receive through education of best practices. Another focus is uniting multiple health care settings under the shared vision of improving the quality of care home health patients receive. We understand how difficult it is to communicate with the different settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, physicians, skilled facilities, etc. Our goal with the later BPIPs will be focused towards uniting these groups.
v I am no longer my agency’s contact person. What do I do? Please notify your LANE and the HHQInfo located on the HHQI web site.
v How long will this campaign last? This campaign will end on July 31, 2011.
v When is the last day an agency can register for the campaign? Technically, an agency could register on July 31, 2011. Although the registration will always be open to agencies, we encourage early registration and early participation in order to take full advantage of what the campaign has to offer.
LANE (LOCAL AREA NETWORK FOR EXCELLENCE) v I have multiple agencies reporting to me, can I still be a LANE? Yes, it’s never too late to be a LANE. Please read the LANE description found at the bottom of the HHQI Website, www.homehealthquality.org then contact Cindy Sun at csun@wvmi.org.
v How can I find my LANE representing my state? A list of LANEs by state is available on the HHQI Web site.
v I spoke with a home health agency in another state and they have received updates and information about the campaign of which I wasn’t informed. Should I be on a different mailing list? Please contact your LANE to confirm they have your correct contact information and ask them if they are aware of the information. If you are unable to make contact with your LANE, please contact Cindy Sun at csun@wvmi.org
v My LANE is my state’s home health association and I am not a current member, can I still participate in the campaign? Absolutely. Send your contact information to the LANE representative of your state after you have registered on the HHQI Web site as a participating agency.
v I am no longer the LANE contact for my state. What do I do? Please contact Cindy Sun at csun@wvmi.org
BEST PRACTICE INTERVENTION PACKETS (BPIPS) QUESTIONS v How will I receive the BPIPs? The BPIPs will be posted / published on the HHQI Web site each quarter. The most recent one was published on April 28, 2010. As an HHQI participant, you will receive notification from HHQI to the e-mail you listed when you registered.
v Will successful practice tools be shared? Absolutely. We will share updated tools from the last campaign that have been proven effective based on the feedback from the nurses and therapists using them as well as introduce new tools as warranted. If you have a tool you are using that you would like to share, please feel free to contact HHQInfo.
v Will the BPIPs incorporate the new OASIS-C guidelines? Yes, when the information relates to the new OASIS, it will be noted in the BPIP.
v Will subjects related to decreasing hospitalizations and medication management be included in this campaign? The focus of the initial BPIP (released in January 2010) was reviewing how to implement the BPIPs as well as decreasing acute hospitalizations. The 2nd BPIP (released in April 2010) addresses medication management. Topics for the future BPIPs will address falls preventions and cross setting care.
v Do we have to use the entire BPIP? No, select as many items in each BPIP you feel is best for your agency and implement them. It’s better to implement a few tools well versus implementing many tools poorly.
