Falls Prevention Awareness Resources
Below are examples of Falls Prevention Awareness materials that you may want to adapt for use within your own state or agency. The HHQI National Campaign would like to thank the Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina for providing these materials on behalf of the North Carolina Falls Coalition:
- Fall Prevention Week Toolkit - A wealth of materials for Falls Prevention Week. If you adapt any of these resources, please give credit to the Texas Falls Prevention Coalition.
- Grab Bar Drive - A flyer for an eastern North Carolina project that provides an innovative way to involve different communities in falls prevention activities.
- Falls & Fractures - A fact sheet created by the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors' National Osteoporosis Council, in partnership with the National Council on Aging's Falls Prevention Awareness and Advocacy Committee. Note that you can insert your organization's logo at the bottom of the sheet.
- North Carolina Proclamation - Falls Prevention Awareness Week 2010 proclamation signed by North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue.
- Article in New York Times - Link to an article on fear of falling, along with a link to the British Medical Journal that features the original study from which the NY Times article is based.

The Joint Commission also recently launched a national campaign to help Americans reduce the risk of falling.
