Data use

We are just getting started in using this data. But we have one of quarterly QA meetings coming up, so when we talk about our Rehospitalization Rate, part will be utilizing the data. I hope to figure in the days in which patients were re-admitted and if we can somehow start to implement "rounding calls" to patients on those given days. Also, noticed that our "other" category for diagnoses for readmission was higher than others. Curious to know why clinicians select "other" for it would be good to have a better snapshot of rehospitalized diagnoses.

Is'nn the data on that site just for 2009? How is it to be utilized in 2010 with new OASIS data?

BLACKOUT Periods for HHQI data???

Caspers

Yes.....I wonder about accuracy with the percentages since you cannot get 2010 info. I have even requested certain dates after the prior ones on the Caspers and I'm finding that the months over lap at times...........I have 10 counties to do QA with and all. I found out about the casper Reports last year. Auditors say we are growing as far as QA is concerned but still weak. I've had little training in QA and what I do is what I make of it. I have utilized the AFMC website that goes into detail about OBQI and OBQM......I do the audits and Caspers and have initiated the HHQI info and passed all of that out....Does anyone have ideas for me or websites? My email is mmason@aaasea.org Thanks!

HHQI Access Data Reports

OASIS-C data is used for the HHQI ACH and Improving Management of Oral Medication. This data is agency actual data, not risk-adjusted, but extremely valuable to help agencies monitor their ACH and Oral Medication Management rates. The Oral Medication Management Data Reports also evaluate several of the other medication measures within the context of improvement in management of oral medications. As far as the Static Period of OASIS data for CASPER, please refer to the CMS website for explanation. There is a very nice matrix that reviews the data and HH Compare posting periods: http://www.cms.gov/HomeHealthQualityInits/10_HHQIQualityMeasures.asp
