About Quality Insights

HHQIOSC logoThis Web site is maintained by Quality Insights of Pennsylvania, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Pennsylvania. As the QIO, Quality Insights is working toward a health care system that provides the right care for every patient, every time. We partner with hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, Medicare Advantage plans, and community and advocacy organizations. The project that this Web site supports — “Home Health Quality Improvement National Campaign” — is classified as a special study under the Pennsylvania QIO contract.

Quality Insights — the national Home Health Quality Improvement Organization Support Center (HHQIOSC) — is an affiliate of WVMI, a non-profit, physician-sponsored organization dedicated to the mission of “improving the health of the people we serve.” Quality Insights of Delaware (QID), another WVMI affiliate corporation, provides QIO services in Delaware.

As the HHQIOSC, Quality Insights serves as the lead QIO for home health, and provides support to 53 QIOs in every state and territory of the United States. On January 11, 2007, Quality Insights launched the “Home Health Quality Improvement National Campaign,” a yearlong effort to reduce avoidable hospitalizations in the home health setting. The campaign launched at a one-day Summit at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) central office in Baltimore, Maryland.
